Twenty-six homes in Rotherhithe, fourteen of which are council, have been built on the site of a former civic centre in Rotherhithe, writes Frankie Hills…
The new homes on Albion Street by Rotherhithe Tunnel are in a development that is 100 per cent affordable, the other twelve properties are shared ownership homes.

The homes include one, two and three bedroom properties which are designed to cater to a number of different types of residents, including families, older residents and people who require accessibility arrangements.
Southwark Council said homes have been built with improved insultation, efficient heating systems, as well as enhanced ventilation to help reduce heating costs for tenants.
“These beautiful new homes at Albion Street are another important step in our work to provide secure, affordable and sustainable decent homes for Southwark residents,” said Councillor Helen Dennis, Cabinet Member for New Homes and Sustainable Development.
“We know how much high quality council homes mean to local families, and I’m delighted that we’re delivering on our commitment here in Rotherhithe.”
