A 48-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found inside a property in Vauxhall on New Year’s Day (Thursday, 1 January).
Police were called to an address on Bondway, near Vauxhall Station, on New Year’s Day at 8pm and found the body of Kaleem Shaik, 41, inside.
Police were called following a welfare concern for a man.
Kaleem Shaik, 41, was an Indian national. His family, who live in India, have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Daniel Levy, 48, of Bondway, Lambeth, was charged with murder on Saturday, 3 January after being arrested on Thursday, 1 January.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on the same day and was remanded in custody to appear next at the Old Bailey today (Monday, 5 January).
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with Kaleem’s family at this very difficult time.
“My team is not currently seeking any additional suspects in relation to this tragic incident.
“We understand the concern this will have caused the local community and residents can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days.”
