ALEX NEIL expects Blackburn Rovers to be ‘desperate’ for points when Millwall travel to Ewood Park on Saturday.
The Lions take on the 20th-placed Rovers this weekend, who have a game in hand after two of their home games were cancelled due to poor weather.
They head into the match without a win in their last five games, while fourth-placed Millwall will be looking to stay in the top six as they face a busy festive period with a severely depleted squad.
“Every game’s difficult,” Neil told NewsAtDen. “Most of the scorelines for Blackburn have been really quite tight. They were beating Ipswich at home, the game got cancelled. They were beating Sheffield Wednesday at home, the game got cancelled.
“They’re on a bit of a difficult run at the moment. If you look at every team across the Championship, probably apart from maybe a likes of Coventry, everybody’s had really good spells where they’ve won three or four games, and everybody’s had really tough spells where they’ve maybe dropped more points than they would’ve liked.
“Blackburn’s going to be really difficult. Whether you’re playing a team at the top end or the bottom end of the table, they’re all really tough for different reasons. They’re going to be desperate to get some points and take themselves away from the bottom three. We want to try and pick up points and maintain our top six status, and try and solidify ourselves there. It’s going to be a really tough game.
“Sometimes our injuries have brought us together. Saturday, in terms of some of the decisions that came our way or didn’t go our way, I thought they brought the stadium together. I’m pretty sure Blackburn, with their adversity they’re going through off the pitch, will bring them together. It’s going to be a tough match, like they all are.”
