Construction of almost 30 council homes in Nunhead has taken a step forward, as the local authority recently celebrated builders reaching roof-level.
The council and building contractors Bugler are building 27 new homes and refurbishing an existing property at 66 Linden Grove in Nunhead.
The development is expected to be finished next year and will include a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes.

The completed scheme will feature a cluster of red-brick four-storey buildings with metal balconies and large windows looking onto an internal courtyard. It will have a roof terrace with solar panels and a new garden room.
A ceremony celebrating construction works reaching the roof level was held on 22 October, bringing together Southwark councillors, construction partners and local residents to celebrate progress on the development.
Cllr Helen Dennis, Southwark Council’s Cabinet Member for New Homes and Sustainable Development, said: “We want everyone in Southwark to live in decent, safe and well-maintained homes, and building more genuinely affordable homes is a vital part of our work to become a good landlord.
“The new homes at Linden Grove are some of the 3,000 council homes we have built or have under construction in Southwark to help transform lives and bring security to families who need it most.

“Despite the challenges facing councils across London, we remain committed to delivering the council homes our residents deserve and working closely with local residents to make this possible.”
