A mural has been unveiled in Camberwell to announce a scheme that will give career-minded people a chance to win an £800 grant.
The scheme, organised by mobile application ‘Anyone’, is titled ‘The Cohort’, and is open to those who identify as being from a “marginalised group”, and need a leg up in achieving their career aspirations.
To apply, people can either scan the QR code on the mural or visit the Cohort Website, where applicants must answer the question ‘what do you want to be when you grow up some more?’.
Laura Jordan Bambach, co-founder at SheSays, an organisation collaborating on the scheme, said: “The Cohort enables talent to realise their potential, particularly people from marginalised backgrounds.”
‘Anyone’ have said there is currently no limit to how many grants might be given out.
By scanning the QR code on the abstract green mural at 1 Camberwell Grove, London, SE5 8JA, people can see the reasons other people have applied for the fund.
‘Anyone’ is a mobile application that connects people with industry leaders around the world who can give them bespoke career advice.
University of the Arts London said: “This is an innovative platform which gives students direct access to professionals in the creative industries. It’s an invaluable resource that helps inform and shape their creative careers.”
The scheme is supported by ten partner organisations including the BBC, University of the Arts London and SheSays, which all say they “are committed to supporting people from underrepresented backgrounds thrive in their career, business and life”.
