By Tom Appleby FORMER Millwall player Eamon Dunphy has backed Alex Neil's side to win promotion to the Premier League this season. Dunphy, 80, made 302 appearances for The Lions from 1965 to 1974, putting him 23rd on the all-time list. He scored 25 goals for the club. The Dublin-born midfielder contributed to the historic home unbeaten run in the 1960s, and played in the team that missed out on promotion to the First Division by one point in 1972. At the time, he was Millwall’s most-capped international footballer with 23 appearances for Ireland. After retiring from football in 1978 following a spell at Dublin side Shamrock Rovers, Dunphy became a successful journalist, author, broadcaster and an influential football pundit on Irish state channel, RTE.
