Four children were taken to hospital this morning and dozens of people were evacuated after a fire broke out in a block of flats near Coldharbour Lane in Brixton.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a flat fire in an 11-storey building on Barrington Road in Brixton, just after 8am.
The blaze destroyed two flats on the fifth and sixth floors.
Over 20 people were evacuated from the building, four children were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Brigade’s Control Office took the first of 23 calls about the fire at 08:05 and sent fire crews from Brixton, Clapham, Peckham, and other surrounding fire stations. The fire was under control at 9:33am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
