Police Constable Kevin Webster expresses ‘immense pride’ after being named the Outstanding Met Neighbourhood Police Constable of the Year at the Pride of Southwark Awards.
Kevin, who is part of the South Bermondsey Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), was recognised for his outstanding dedication and commitment to keeping the area safe.
He was selected from all Police Constables in Southwark as part of Southwark’s 60th anniversary, after it was combined with the boroughs of Camberwell and Bermondsey in 1965.
He was presented with the award on 6 November by the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Sunny Lambe, at the Mayor’s office on Tooley Street.

Kevin said: “Receiving this award is a moment of immense pride and joy and most certainly ranks at the top of my Policing Journey.
“I am humbled that I was considered for this prestigious award, when I work with an amazing team of people. I have had the privilege and honour to work on and serve the people of Southwark as a neighbourhoods officer for nearly two decades.”
Kevin has known and worked with Cllr Sunny Lambe for over ten years and said it was special to be presented the award from the Mayor.

As a community police officer, Kevin says his job is challenging yet rewarding.
He said: “Everyone who knows and has worked with me, knows my passion and pride for community policing and a role I consider to be one of the most challenging and rewarding roles in Policing.
“I would like to pay a special thank you to my team and closest friends PC Carina Tunks, PCSO Joel Ngoy and PCSO Sean Evans, who continue to support me over these many years and who make up one of the best and most dedicated neighbourhood teams.”
