A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering 22-year-old Shevaun Sorrell, just hours after police took their first suspect into custody.
Sorrell, who was stabbed to death in Deptford on Saturday died in hospital less than one hour after he was found by police.
A 36-years-old suspect was taken into custody in a south London station earlier today (Thursday August 30), and now detectives have arrested a second man. The 27-year-old was taken into custody after police made the arrest at an address in Deptford this evening.
But the search is far from over, officers are continuing to appeal for information and witnesses to come forward – including any possible footage of the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Michael Norman said: “This investigation is making progress but we are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“I know members of the public saw police officers and the London Ambulance Service giving aid to the victim at the scene.
“The people I want to hear from are those who may have seen an altercation between two males or a group of males beforehand but may not have realised what had happened.
“We are also appealing to people who may have CCTV or dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.

The victim, named as Shevaun Sorrell, was found by police with stab injuries on the junction of Creek Road and Deptford Church Street by officers shortly before midnight on Saturday, August 25.
A post-mortem examination held yesterday at Greenwich Mortuary established his cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.
