WIKTORIA Michalik made a successful return home after her bronze medal at the Poland National Elite Championships last year with victory at the Bodyshots home show in Erith.
Bermondsey-based Michalik faced the tough and game Alexandra Connolly from Britannia ABC in a three-by-three-minute round bout. It was the first home show of Michalik’s boxing career.
Coach George Wadman explained his fighter’s approach.
“We knew from a video we studied that Wictoria’s opponent likes to hold the centre of the ring and push fighters back, so our plan was to force her back and immediately take control,” Wadman said.
“And as instructed Wictoria came out on the front foot and took control, landing combinations with great accuracy and speed.
“Connolly did try pushing Wictoria back but she trains so hard and is so fit she can throw over a hundred punches in a round. All three rounds were competitive and at the Elite level everyone is a good fighter. Ultimately, Wictoria out-boxed and out-punched Connolly.”
The judges scored the fight a 4-1 split in Michalik’s favour.
Coach Andrew Wadman added: “She boxed really well and is getting better and better every fight – we look forward to bringing home some more medals in 2026.”
