Lynn ABC’s Frankie Hanratty delivered a standout performance last Sunday as he represented his club in a WBC amateur international competition in Dover.
Stepping straight into an international contest for his first bout of the season, Hanratty faced Scotland’s Finlay Adams over three three-minute rounds.
Despite the challenge of international opposition and early-season pressure, Hanratty produced one of the finest displays of his amateur career. Showing composure, sharp timing, and technical discipline throughout all three rounds, he claimed a unanimous decision victory, impressing coaches and spectators alike.
“To go straight into an international contest tells you everything you need to know about him as a boxer,” Lynn coach Terry Pearson said. “For me, he put on one of the best displays of his amateur career. He boxed beautifully for all three rounds and fully deserved the win.”
With momentum now firmly on his side, Hanratty will join five of his club team-mates at this weekend’s South London Belt Finals in Mitcham, where he will look to build on his successful start to the season.
