A number of roads in Kennington that have remained closed since January are due to reopen next month (March 2026).
Monkton Street, Fitzalan Street and Worgan Street, which are all located in Kennington, have been closed since January so Thames Water can carry out major works.
According to one.network, which provides real-time updates on road closures, roadworks and diversion routes, all three roads are set to reopen within days of each other.
Worgan Street is closed from the junction with Jonathan Street to the junction with Glasshouse Walk. The works are being carried out in phases to minimise disruption.
Worgan Street will reopen on March 3, Monkton Street will reopen on March 7, while Fitzalan Street will reopen on March 11.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) has compiled a list of the remaining road closures as well as the exact date Lambeth residents can expect them to reopen again.
The remaining road closures are located in Brixton, West Norwood and Waterloo.
Belevedere Road, which is located behind the London Eye, was closed temporarily to allow for the set-up of the BAFTA Film Awards, which took place on Sunday evening (February 22). The road closed yesterday morning but was due to reopen today (February 23) at 2pm.
Saint Julian’s Farm Road in West Norwood has been closed since last week (February 18) to allow Scotia Gas Networks to carry out works, however it is due to reopen on Wednesday (February 25) at 11.59pm.
Arlingford Road in Brixton has been closed since since 8am today (February 23) for Thames Water, but it is due to reopen on Saturday (February 28) at 6pm.
Lastly, a lengthy road closure is in place for nearby Brailsford Road, which isn’t due to reopen until May 20 at 6pm. The road has been closed since the morning of February 9 to allow for Thames Water to carry out works.
