A festival celebrating all walks of cartoon life is set to descend upon Waterloo this February with Spider-Man selfies guaranteed, writes Romilly Schulte…
The Sidings of London Waterloo will open its doors to Fandom Fest, a free event fêteing the wild world of comics, cosplay and gaming.
A programme of live, interactive entertainment will be put on including a Transformer roaming the train station’s retail development.
Megan Doole, business support manager at The Sidings, said “we’re inviting everyone – families, fans and first-timers alike – to come together and celebrate the characters they love.”
The festival will have a Pokémon TCG gaming zone, where players can learn and master the Japanese trading card game.
There will also be a free event arts-and-crafts station for children plus talented artists will be on site to reimagine guests as anime-characters in a unique portrait for them to take home.
Since opening in 2022, The Sidings has been home to various big name retail and restaurant brands. It has been touted as ‘Waterloo’s social side’, and houses late-night social spots such as Brewdog and karaoke bar Lucky Voice.
Commuters and fans alike are invited to come together and enjoy the space and the free superhero festivities.
The free event will take place on Saturday 21st February from 11am-4pm.
