BILLY Mitchell will return before the end of the season, Alex Neil said.
Mitchell, 25, rolled his ankle while blocking a shot in Millwall’s 2-1 win over Middlesbrough last Friday and missed the Lions’ clash with Norwich City three days later, which they lost 2-1.
The midfielder’s ankle was scanned on Tuesday, and Neil revealed the results to NewsAtDen.
“He’s got a bit of a strained ligament in his ankle,” Neil said. “In terms of timeframe, I’m not quite sure. It’s not going to be longer term, put it that way. His season’s not over. He’ll be back before the end of the season.”
Mitchell has made 29 appearances in all competitions this campaign. The academy product is out of contract in the summer.
