Trooping the Colour will include army cadets from all over London for the first time ever.
After weeks of rehearsing, the annual parade takes place this Saturday (15 June) in London, celebrating the official birthday of the King.
From foreign dignitaries to senior military officers, the event holds huge cultural significance every year.
The Horse Guards Parade is scheduled to begin at 10:20am on Saturday, although members of the public wishing to watch from The Mall or St James’s Park are advised to arrive from 9am.
For the first time in history, 26 cadets from London’s Army Cadet Force will be taking part.
Their role is to support the military and reserve personnel on the day, bringing young people and volunteers into the celebrations.
For many audience members, the cadets will be the first uniformed personnel they’ll interact with, allowing cadets to represent the force to people from across the world.
The Army Cadets organisation provides over 72,000 young people with opportunities that they wouldn’t receive otherwise, outside of school, from weekly sessions teaching life skills to adventurous training, both nationally and across the world.
Unlike many organisations, they also get the opportunity to be a part of events like this one, the King’s Coronation and Queen’s funeral, to mention a few.
