A man has been charged with murder following the death of an 84-year-old woman in Plumstead.
Giorgio Pin, 62, from Woolwich has been arrested and charged with the murder of Doris Innes, 84, from Plumstead, as well as two counts of attempted murder.
Police officers were called to the scene at Red Lion Place on the morning of Wednesday, 1 April, following reports of a man in possession of a knife.
Innes was found with serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her family are currently being supported by specialist officers.
Two further victims were also threatened with a knife close to the scene, however they did not receive any injuries.
Pin is being held in custody and will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 4 April.

It’s saddened me to see in many newspapers now to see the victims of violent crimes referred to by Surnames only.
A lady of 84 has been murdered. At a time of her.life she should have been safe. How demeaning to call her Innes. Her name was Doris. We seem to be adopting the method of reporting used in USA.
