FEMI Azeez has been named the Championship Player of the Month for February.
Azeez, 24, has been excellent this season and carried that form into last month, assisting three goals and scoring a stunning volley against Birmingham City.
The winger helped Millwall to four wins during the month as the Lions maintain their push for their first Championship play-off appearance in over 20 years.
Millwall manager Alex Neil said: “It’s well deserved. He has been our talisman this year, and every time he has been on form, we have definitely carried an extra threat at the top end of the pitch. I think this month, with the number of points we have accumulated and the run we have been on, he has been the catalyst for that.”
Azeez said: “I’m absolutely delighted to win this award. It’s a special moment for me – I have to thank my team-mates as well; it’s been a good month. We just need to keep going now!”
Azeez leads the squad for goal contributions (fourteen) and assists (six) and is the joint-top scorer alongside Mihailo Ivanovic with eight goals.
His form attracted interest in January, with Ipswich Town submitting a deadline-day bid that would have been Millwall’s record sale had it been accepted.
